Hi Bill,

Thank you for the changes, but when I open the document in WORD, I cannot remove the highlights that you put in in LibreOffice.
Maybe you can provide the same text without highlights ?

Thanks Volhout, I did not expect that you would be happy with as I posted it, but if you are then I left a line in there which is struck through. You should remove that.

Hi Bill,

Good that you mentioned it. I reworded that section, but kept the essentials.

Thank you Harm and Bill for putting the final touches on this great joint effort--Picomite Petscii Robots.

The is the best community-built programming project that I have ever observed as it happened--with special shoutouts to the efforts of Harm, Martin, and Peter.

Thanks again for that document Volhout.

Because the PicomiteVGA is more popular and more common than the CMM2 more programs and games are being written for it rather than the CMM2. I would like to convert same of those games to run on the CMM2 but, to do that, I need to learn more about the differences in graphics between the two.

I would like a document that explains how to do this. I know Peter has done this with an earlier version of PETSCII ROBOTS but that is Peter not me.

I known there have been later innovations for the Picomite like sprites in CSUBs and I don't know how to handle those on a CMM2. How do you convert framebuffer commands to PAGE commands and so on. Will some of those innovations be implemented on the CMM2?

Bill,

I just ordered a new CMM2 (my spare was broken, and I send my original one to RickM during Covid) It is on my TODO list to port PETSCII to CMM2 in full glory. But I will not keep you from starting already. My knowledge of CMM2 graphics and sound is prior Covid. So I will follow your efforts with curiousity.
But the CMM2 should be able to handle the VGA graphics from MSDOS fine. And maybe even handle the sound files.

I hope it (CMM2) arrives in one piece from New Zealand. Shipping will be costly...
But RichTech is the only place you can get them now. And ordering a 5 build from JLC is far more expensive...

Thanks Volhout, You may not stop me but my lack of skill and knowledge will. I was thinking of something more like Martin's Frogger.

I will have to print Peter and Doug's "Graphics Programming on the Colour Maximite 2" document along with your's and try and work from there.

By the way, I thought later that your document really should include a cover page like that one which includes your name. So we know who to blame-er-thank

@Volhout, As you didn't respond to the post above, I've again took liberties. I added a cover page. Please do with it as you wish, discard it if you don't like it or change it to suit yourself.

Hi Bill,

Thanks for making it better. It was not high on my priority list, so I suspended it.

Harm,
I have attached the chapters on creating the maps and converting the CSV file.
pico_graphics_V3.2.zip

see if this fits or should be moved to another place in the book.

Cheers
Martin
