Yeah I don`t envy the "freedoms" the permissive society has brought. Which brings us to this song.

Freedom`s just another word

I think the barbecue chook had a lot going for it, but that's a sentiment that now doesn`t include hormones.

More blasts from the past.....

SHAKESPEARS SISTER - Stay

SINEAD O'CONNOR - No Man's Woman

I remember REALLY liking this song at the time, and even now, it holds up very well, and is also a great woman's anthem.

ALANIS MORRISETTE - Hand In My Pocket

TRANSVISION VAMP - I Want Your Love Edited by Grogster 2014-03-21

I was going to put Power of Love but you beat me to it. Next time :)
One thing about the old songs is that they had melody and quite often told a nice story. One of the best for doing that is:
Forever Autumn by the Moody Blues.
Some of the more modern songs also tell a story, here is one:
Gangsta's Paradise. Unfortunately the young ones of today hear a song like that and think it would be cool to be "laying in chalk".
Now back to a real old golden oldie, Ghost Riders In The Sky by Burl Ives, the orginal singer.
From a western with an unusual singer, Born Under a Wandering Star by Lee Marvin, in Paint your wagon Red.
A modern war protest classic, Only 19 by Redgum.
How are we going compared to this one? In the year 2525 by Zager and EvansEdited by grub 2014-03-29

"Only 19" by Redgum is a great song - freeze-frames during video and at the end of the video says it all really...

It's like that other song "19" - at 19, boys should be out romancing the girls, not trying to blow each other's heads off. War.........

Don't get me wrong - some things need to be fought for, I'm just saying that war - any war - always the payment in life seems so much for whatever the outcome. But then, if not for those lost during WW2, things could be considerably different if Hitler had managed to take over the whole world, which was what he was trying for, and damn near did it.

...but I digress...

Well, I probably should let this thread die, but there are so many good songs out there.....

Time for some Motley Crue...

MOTLEY CRUE - Doctor Feelgood

MOTLEY CRUE - Wild Side

Sorry if I posted these earlier - I need to re-read this thread to check....

DEF LEPPARD - Pour Some Sugar On Me

Now, it is widely acknowledged that Def Leppard don't like this video, and they have re-recorded an official "Live" version of this song for the video, but this is the video that I grew up with - and loved.

Here are a few more from my great long list of songs that I have.
Paradise by the Dashboard Lights by Meatloaf.
Maggie by Foster and Allen
MMM MMM MMM MMM by the Crashtest Dummies
An old classic, Most People I know by Billy Thorpe. I think this one suits most on this forum :)
A fun song, Mouldy Old Dough by Lieutenant Pigeon
And something from the Monkees, Randy Scouse Git .
Apparently calling someone a "scouse git" was a big insult and the writer of this song didn't know it was until after it was produced.
Anyway, relax all for everyone is on the other side of the world when it comes to the Internet.

DARYL BRAITHWAITE - As The Days Go By

JIMMY BARNES - I'd Die To Be With You Tonight Edited by Grogster 2014-04-19
