Notice. New forum software under development. It's going to miss a few functions and look a bit ugly for a while, but I'm working on it full time now as the old forum was too unstable. Couple days, all good. If you notice any issues, please contact me.

to stanleyella: do you have a "normal" picomite? i would try to test the sd card reader on this normal pico. if the reader then would not be in function you know it is the reader... otherwise you know the mysterium is in association with the pico with screen on board. if i start to build or test a new configuration of a pico it is always the most heavy task to connect the sd card reader successfully. when i test the connectors i often must recognize that i made a mistake (the pins on the readers are not uniformly marked, CLK, CS an so on sometimes have different and similar names). last week i had a connector cable that did not conduct(!). to me helped the method to complete "rebuild" the configuration for many times... |

The plastic of adapters is not suited for soldering. But if you have the skills (speed, do it first time right, use leaded solder) you can do it without melting the plastic where the contacts are aligned. And the adapter will still function. Matter of skills. But honestly, these adapters are not made for frequent insertion and extraction of the micro SD card. After about 100x they start to fail. Conclusion: you can make it work...to certain limits PicomiteVGA PETSCII ROBOTS |

They come apart with a thumb nail. Easier to solder and retention the contacts. Maybe false economy. I'll try the sdcard adaptor on another non waveshare picomite but it's not fun anymore, I'm loosing interest in diy. |

I've never seen one in bits before. :) Looks like you need to clean the contacts and, if possible, put some flux on them before soldering. Solder hot and fast for best results because keeping the iron on for too long is what melts the plastic. Mick Zilog Inside! nascom.info for Nascom & Gemini Preliminary MMBasic docs & my PCB designs |

It's a pcb. It's the case that melts. Definitely clean the contacts before soldering. My friend said "you can only solder new vero board".. true, unless you clean it. |

Yes? Have you made a PCB to mount it on? Those pins are probably about 1mm apart, possibly less. Mick Zilog Inside! nascom.info for Nascom & Gemini Preliminary MMBasic docs & my PCB designs |

Doh :( but it's the thought that counts and I thought of something nice. |

This should work perfectly. The pin markings are different though. This diagram shows the connections you want. Mick Zilog Inside! nascom.info for Nascom & Gemini Preliminary MMBasic docs & my PCB designs |
