BON JOVI - You Give Love A Bad Name

EUROPE - Final Countdown

MICHAEL JACKSON - Thriller

This is another song that I was baptised into the world of music with when growing up, so holds special memories for me...

HUNTERS AND COLLECTORS - Throw Your Arms Around Me

HOODOO GURUS - Axegrinder Edited by Grogster 2014-02-01

This is just an observation, but I have quite a few Best of year xx albums and I have noticed that, although I enjoy music from all decades, it is the music from my late teens and early twenties that I enjoy the most. I mean from these albums I have, there are more songs from these years than other years.

Well, yeah, I have to agree with that, grub.

I was baptised into the music thing in the 80's when I became a teenager, and it is that music(the 80's) that I think of most fondly.

I am sure others of other generations, are proportionally the same with respect to music.

Why don't you post some of your favourites here?

The Frente! thing in the first post of this thread was something I remember well from my youth. It had nothing at all to do with the fact that I was so in love with the lead singer of Frente!, that anything she said or sung was gold to me!

Just found HIT WAVE 82 - on cassette.
It still sounds OK for a 32-year old tape!

OK, time for some New Zealand music, as that is where I am.

DD SMASH - Whaling

DAVE DOBBYN - Loyal

FUR PATROL - Lydia

...love that song, and the lead singer of that band is such a spunk(hows that for retro language!)
This is the kind of music that should have won the Grammy thing. No intentional disrespect to Lorde, but....

FUR PATROL - Andrew

Another fine example of a New Zealand rock song.
...and she's still a spunk in this video too.

SUPERGROOVE - Can't Get Enough

Fantastic video and song.

SUPERGROOVE - You Gotta Know

Agree it is the music from our teens that influence our tastes a lot, but I enjoy most music. Not much time for classical although enjoy some opera. But subscribe a little to the old saying there is only two kinds of music Country & Western. Tis the red neck in me. How about the Chinese Tenors- They`re Magic.

But hey you fellows have some good music and thank you for introducing "you tube" to me. Music bridges generations and nationality.

Mario has a great voice, that's true.

One for you, Vic:

EMMYLOU HARRIS - Heaven Only Knows

Interestingly, had never heard of this artist or song, till the episode of The Sopranoes, which featured it right after the opening credits.Edited by Grogster 2014-02-03

Just had a quick look into my favourites folder and found I have about 205 of them. Mp3 are great.
"song of joy" by Miguel Rios
"after the gold rush" by Prelude
"amourese" by Kiki Dee
And add some beat to the mix, the one and only; "he's gonna step on you again" by The Partyboys
And for the Grogster; "Good Morning, How are You" by The Moir Sisters
The youngest sister was/is my age and I thought she was the cutest thing ever.

Well, I was born in 1974, so a VERY relevant song!

As for The Party Boys - that is also one of my favourites - how did I miss posting that one? Edited by Grogster 2014-02-06

Just for anyone's interest, I have been downloading all these videos.
They are all sourced from YouTube, so I have been using YouTube Downloader to grab them all and save them.

OK, nothing at all to do with the fact that I was in love with Frente!'s lead singer when I was a teenager, here is another of their well known songs:

FRENTE! - Ordinary Angels

I loved the fact that she seemed to be something of a "Bubble-head", but it made their music all the more attractive - to me anyway! ;)

I wonder what has happened to them now........ Edited by Grogster 2014-02-08

OK, this is not really so much a music video, as a beautiful song paired with a beautiful story....

The most haeat-breaking dog rescue ever

I guess it is the music, but boy - REALLY emotional.

I DARE you NOT to cry when you watch this one - I could not help myself...

Gotta agree with you Grogster, if you don`t shed a tear, you've not been rescued from life`s problems by a dog.
