Notice. New forum software under development. It's going to miss a few functions and look a bit ugly for a while, but I'm working on it full time now as the old forum was too unstable. Couple days, all good. If you notice any issues, please contact me.

I tried it with cryptic crossword clues it was hopeless. I told it the answer had 6 letters and it gave me a 5 letter word, when I responded that is only 5 letters it gave me a word with 8 letters. "It is better to be ignorant and ask a stupid question than to be plain Stupid and not ask at all" |

it begins: "I want to be with you. Question 5: Do you want to be with me" - completely played his emotions. the one thing that struck me is how quickly and subtly the AI surpassed its creators intellect "Ava's not pretending to like you" - oh really? Edited 2023-03-17 13:39 by CaptainBoing |

Yes, very spooky end to that movie. I had not seen this movie before, so it was a good one. Smoke makes things work. When the smoke gets out, it stops! |

I propose a new acronym, that's much more relevant to the situation today: AZIP. Artificial Zero Intelligence Plagiarist. This is applicable to any system that gives the outward appearance of intelligence but is not actually capable of such. :) Mick Zilog Inside! nascom.info for Nascom & Gemini Preliminary MMBasic docs & my PCB designs |

Thanks for posting that. I think it helps explain how/why ChatGPT made up that paper (by North & Thomas) - it was a likely article. It's inexcusable that ChatGPT didn't check to see if the publication it invented actually existed!! Pathetic. I suppose they'll fix that - I mean, it's not hard bearing in mind ChatGPT has access to check. John |

That and so many other things. I hope they develop some means to make its replies truthful and not just "truthy"--something beyond "I saw it on the internet, so it must be true". Of course, '“What is truth?” retorted Pilate.' There's the Russian Ministry of Defense, and there's ... (Where is Walter Cronkite when you need him? (Sorry, American reference--is my geezerdom showing?)). PicoMite, Armmite F4, SensorKits, MMBasic Hardware, Games, etc. on fruitoftheshed |

In the family plot in Kansas City, but I think he is probably past caring . I'm only 49 and a Brit, and I know (some of) who Walter Cronkite was. Best wishes, Tom Game*Mite, CMM2 Welcome Tape, Creaky old text adventures |
