Notice. New forum software under development. It's going to miss a few functions and look a bit ugly for a while, but I'm working on it full time now as the old forum was too unstable. Couple days, all good. If you notice any issues, please contact me.

I bailed at page 9 (page 8 last to be answered). I'm from the US so
should not properly be responding to the survey anyway, but was
curious to see what was causing the unrest and complaints here on
the Back Shed.

I normally have an affinity to surveys, and like to participate in them,
but this one got to be a bit much.

I will give details in a later post.

Hank

Hi Hank,
Are you posting my details to show that I'm legit. Or is this something more sinister? I'm happy to let you folks go it alone in this community if my invite to do a voluntary survey (however flawed) is causing consternation. I'm only asking for help, there's no arm-wringing here. I'd prefer people not to do it if you're coming at it with the objective of a take down. Please don't do the survey if you are not from AUS.

Cheers all,
Che

Baggins,

Seen this type of survey here in Europe and coming out of some so called class Universities. The surveys did not end well.

This forum has some real intelligent shakers and movers and folk that deal in real working evidence, which, in my opinion is very rare today.

Recently I have had some Graduates come and stay with us, a very interesting experience.

Everything is possible, just give me time.

3 HughP's 3.7m Wind T's (14 years). 5kW PV on 3 Trackers, (10 yrs). 21kW PV AC coupled SH GTI's. OzInverter created Grid. 1300ah 48v.

" It has also been heavily informed by other peer-reviewed studies on similar issues - as well as de-boned, picked apart and critiqued prior. It could still be better no doubt"

Your education was supposed to equip you to make sensible decisions from the data you are presented with. When presented with data contrary to your expectation, you should have the faculties to make a sensible decision, that maybe your survey was not what you and your fellow academics presupposed.

The result so far from this "straw poll" says to me that your peer review is total nonsense, and if you have any passion for getting the true picture, you need to mix with a better standard of associates...

They are clearly duds. If you could not get the owner of the best Australian renewable site to even get through your diatribe, then you must seriously question your modus operandi. I know he would have tried to be accommodative, you made it impossible from the looks.

Your doing a PHD, and people started out trying to support your endeavor.... but you have seriously underestimated the woeful construction of your survey, and the street sense of your supposed peer review committee. They need to have a good look at themselves, to have led you astray so badly. I don't expect they can tie their own shoelaces.

If "It has also been heavily informed by other peer-reviewed studies on similar issues - as well as de-boned, picked apart and critiqued prior." is true, you need to get out more. It is clearly hopeless, and if you cant see that .. then....

You need to get some passion to get honest results, not just go through the motions. PHD thesis have changed the world, like Louis de Broglie, who's phd was sent to Einstein, and in his 1924 PhD thesis he postulated the wave nature of electrons and suggested that all matter has wave properties..got a Nobel Prize, and then perhaps Feynman's phd led him to then do his brilliant theory of quantum electro dynamics.. and another Nobel Prize.

I don't think your going to achieve anything of importance with this current iteration. You need to take it seriously. This survey does not reflect that intent.

I can't add anymore that may help you in your endeavors, the rest is up to you.
