Yeah I agree with Allan, its not worth worrying about a few watts, especially for the sake of safety. Before I started living off grid, when I first made this post, I was concerned about phantom loads, the inverter running all the time, etc. But after living here for the last month, I can say I prefer it if the inverter is running 24/7. I only use about 5kwh a day, and the solar panels have fully charged the battery bank by mid day, so for now I'm not worried about loosing a few watts. I still have to add the 2nd battery bank, and I have more solar panels to mount on the roof, plus a wind turbine, so I think for now I have ample power, which is kind of cool. Hi Glen A bit of extra cost initially is well and truly equalled out in the long run by the satisfaction of being independent and in the long tern the savings. everything costs in this world so we must pay to have the conveniences of modern living, otherwise back to the candle and cooking pot.
