Notice. New forum software under development. It's going to miss a few functions and look a bit ugly for a while, but I'm working on it full time now as the old forum was too unstable. Couple days, all good. If you notice any issues, please contact me.

I would be interested to know if someone here has experience with "File History" in Windows and if so, what kind? I suspect it's a black box that doesn't have much configuration?

I use File History for a lot of my backups.
Microsoft are trying to make it difficult to find and they have taken away some of the usability once you finally find the setup page.
They made it hard to add additional folders but a google search will show you the tricks.

I like the ability to look through a year of versions of some of my code files.
I still prefer XCOPY and batch files to backup individual projects.

Thanks Jim, sounds like it's worth a try...
Kind regards

PS:
many years back I also used xcopy and Ghost for incremental backups to the DAT streamer

@Grogster

Well this is the second time that your PC-related travails/challenges have made life easier for me

First it was Superlite and now the reminder re: file-sync. Really happy with this and even installed Goodsync on my Android devices. Pretty darned happy
