Notice. New forum software under development. It's going to miss a few functions and look a bit ugly for a while, but I'm working on it full time now as the old forum was too unstable. Couple days, all good. If you notice any issues, please contact me.

Here are the completed boards as received from JLC. Both the filter and DAC versions work perfectly for all functions with no errors. If any one is interested I can post the gerbers and design files Edited 2023-04-27 04:20 by matherp |

Yes please. Er... why is one V1.0 & the other V1.1? I'm guessing the files would be for V1.1 - right? John |

V1.0 has Volhout's inductor filter V1.1 uses the MCP4822 DAC I will make both sets available - not much cost difference. The DAC has better high frequency response but uses a bit more system resouerce |

Yes, a very good price... If you where to order 100.000 pieces you would get the price down to 10 dollar. But for a qty of 5 it is higher. Economics work that way... PicomiteVGA PETSCII ROBOTS |

Thanks. I'm trying to order the V1.1. After uploading the gerbers, then BOM & CPL, on processing BOM & CPL I get some errors (in red): 1 parts inventory shortfall, which I guess means they don't have them LOL looks ike it means the J1,J2; shows 8 shortfall (of 10) 3 parts not selected which are: BT1 USB2 H1 Am I doing this right / what do I do next? J1 and j2 are the 20 pin headers and you don't want these from them - too expensive as hand soldered. You also don't want H1 which is the 5-pin header The rest should be there. let me check the BOM and see what has happened |

UPDATE Seems like a glitch on their system as it is doing the same to the file I had the prototype built from. Recommendations edit the BOM and CPL files. Remove the lines for J1, J2, and H1 Then load up as before In the JLC screen for the two "missing" components hit the search icon on the component line. The battery holder comes up with the correct part so select it The USB connector cones up with a selection of parts select the top one: KH-TYPE-C-16P The proceed to the board viewer - it all looks OK to me. |

That worked - thanks! I just got an email from JLC saying "Approved". Sorry to ask but I suppose when the boards arrive I need to fit the now-missing J1, J2 & H1, but I'm not sure what they are. Pins or receptacles (headers?)? rows of 1 or 2? I have various so may well have them. Er... will the holes to put them in be there or not and/or full of solder? John |

The holes are done from the drill file, so they will be there - and not full of solder. :) You don't need H1 at all. You only need J1 and J2 if you want to use an expansion module. The boards will run fine without. Mick Zilog Inside! nascom.info for Nascom & Gemini Preliminary MMBasic docs & my PCB designs |

Just ordered 5 of the V1.0. I edited the BOM and CPL files as Peter suggested, and the order went through no problem. I didn't have to search on those other parts so the glitch must be gone. Total came to $85 shipped to the US or $17 per board. Very good deal IMHO. I did have a coupon for being a new customer that knocked $10 off the order. Pretty inexpensive fun, per board. Thanks Peter, and all! -G |

One note for configuring the boards. The underside has silkscreen details for setting up the required options. However, both the boards use GP23 for audio and V1.1 also uses GP24. In order to configure this they need setting to OFF before executing the option command. i.e. for V1.0 SETPIN GP23,OFF:OPTION AUDIO GP22, GP23 for V1.1 SETPIN GP23,OFF: SETPIN GP24,OFF: OPTION AUDIO SPI GP24, GP22, GP23 |
