I dug out my H7 and tried to load some games and programs to it , but most don't run at all. Which programs are compatible , CMM and CMM2? Seems like a lot of difference with the picomites. It chokes on almost all games for Pico series. A lot of commands behind them it seems. |

H7 is shorthand for ARMmite H743 based on STM32H743 chip. The H7 has the standard MMBasic GUI commands and an initial implementation of Sprites but there has been much further development on the CMM2 and Picomites regards games capability, so most recent games using these new features would not work. Hello Community, I would like to buy a STM-evaluation board suitable for the latest version of MMBasic. I am a beginner concerning STM processors. I have worked a lot with AVR processors before, but I miss the higher clock speed there. As I understand from the dissusion before, a STMH743 seems to be out of date. Can anyone recommend a current STM-board with the 480MHz clock or more and where to buy it? I would have Nucleus boards in my sights, but I am unsure whether it run with MMbasic Many thanks Wolfgang |

I was told that the STMH743 wasn't going out of date but there is a 753 that has been reported to be MMBasic compatible. I have the Nucleo H743ZI2 but I also have several of the more compact, 100-pin WeAct modules. Not out of date for running MMBasic, just not currently subject to further development (or bringing up to PicoMite functionality). In addition to a Nucleo board (which I don't find on aliex after a brief search), I have used this H743VIT6. Be very careful in ordering--there are many variants which won't work (insufficient memory, etc.). The "VIT6" did for me. Out of curiosity, what specifically do you want the H7 for? PicoMite, Armmite F4, SensorKits, MMBasic Hardware, Games, etc. on fruitoftheshed |

The 753 is EXACTLY the same as the 743 except that it has additional (irrelevant for us) functionality: Crypto/hash hardware acceleration Secure Firmware Install (SFI) embedded security services to authenticate and protect your software Ips while performing initial programming Secure Boot Secure Firmware Update (SBSFU) It is fully compatible with the relevant versions of MMBasic (CMM2 and ArmmiteH7) The 743 is fully supported by ST and will be for years to come but for things like the Nucleo it makes no sense to make 2 versions so the 753 is now used rather than the 743 In terms of the MMbasic versions, the ArmmiteH7 was always envisaged as a high performance embedded controller rather than a "games" machine.There is a backpack design for the Nucleo which allows direct connection to things like SSD1963 displays and breaks out the various functional I/O pins in a useful way. Thank you very much for all these informative and comprehensive tips. I will study this. I would like to use a MMBasic compatible board for learning and as an introduction to the STM-processor world, because it supports 64 bit calculations, two 12bit DACs and selectable ADC resolution. In the current ARMmiteF4 User Manual I see that MMbasic also supports a display of type SSD1963. This was an additional motivation for me to look for those evaluation boards, as I had already used this display in my Atmega projects. Greets Wolfgang |

It would be great to have more ARMmite H7 developers. It's absolutely fantastic. The PicoMite stole the limelight due to cost, I presume but I envisage a combination of the ARMmite + PicoMite (slaves) because the PicoMite has the high-speed PIO feature. |
