Anybody out there got a 24 to 48 volt dc-dc converter ?..maybe an ex-telcom or comms piece of equipment. I want something to feed my 48v battery bank off the 24v solar panel when the wind is not generating the 48v wind gennie..

Nope, but you should be able to build a simple enough
unit to do the trick. How much power (watts) are your
24V panels putting out?

Hey Bruce,
There is a place called "telephone wreckers" at Loganholme, -not to far from you. I went in their the other day and he had piles of things that you might be interested in. I bought 2x 12v 12ah batter from him for $26 each, so isnt overpriced.
Worth a look if you still want those converters ?

Hi Bruce
I have an ex Telecom 48VDC to 80VDC at .5 Amps DC to DC converter. You can have it for the price of posting it. It is in mint condition and nicely boxed .

want to try making a boost converter yourself. Also I've
started using the LT1268BCT of late, which is the 7.5amp
direct replacement for the LT1170. It runs at 150khz which
helps keep the inductor/cap sizes down.

Linear will often give you a sample or two as well, which
is great for testing a prototype
