On the site there is a schematic for a 10A variable power supply. I am currently building it and would like to some help with it. Can someone clarify the connection nodes. Where the line connect or just overlap. Attached is the schematic. I am still learning and would appreciate all the help i can get. Marius de Jong |

I'm guessing you mean the wire from pin 2 of the IC? Yes there should be a dot there, it joins to all the resistors. I've updated the drawings http://www.thebackshed.com/Windmill/articles/VariablePowerSu pply.asp Glenn The best time to plant a tree was twenty years ago, the second best time is right now. JAQ |

Dear Glenn Thank you for your speedy reply and update. That is how I had it, looks like i will have to do some fault finding. The voltages seem to stay constant at 2.5V and doesn't want to adjust. Marius de Jong |

This threasd had 2 pages before I logged in, but now I can only find one. I had intended to quote one of phase's posts. Phase, from memory, in essence you said "the LM 3914 can be configured to a single dot & the LED current can be set in the range 20-40 Ma" You mean mA not Ma. m = milli, M = Meg. And the convention for units that are named after a person employ a capital letter. In this case it was Ampere. The same applies to Watt, Volt, Gauss, etc. but not units such as metre. Hence mm = millimetre, km = kilometre, Mm = megametre. Len |

[/quote] Perhaps its because you are in the wrong woods, and you should have commented in this thread. http://www.thebackshed.com/forum/forum_posts.asp?TID=5207&PN =1&get=last#51893 Then all bears get lost in the woods at some time, just watch out for Goldie locks, she will make a mess of your porridge.
