Notice. New forum software under development. It's going to miss a few functions and look a bit ugly for a while, but I'm working on it full time now as the old forum was too unstable. Couple days, all good. If you notice any issues, please contact me.

Hi guys, I've got an idea and initial design for a "dongle" that will connect to a battery (2, 6, or 12v) to monitor temp and voltage. So far no big deal but you can have as many as you like daisy-chained on every battery in a bank, each can have its own LED display or another option is to have them communicate with another device like an Arduino for display/logging etc. So my questions are... Is there anything like this already around (I can't find anything)? Is this a useful idea in the first place? ______ Rob Rob Gray, AKA the Graynomad, www.robgray.com |

Take a look at some of the posts in the EV forum - I think something like that is being used to handle battery balancing. seems like it'd be useful to me. |

I've searched the entire forum for "battery monitor", "battery monitoring" and various similar phrases and cannot find a single reference which I find very strange given the gist of this forum and the fact that that exact phrase is in the topic of this thread. I would think a search would find in EV as well but I'll have a trawl through those threads manually. Go figure. And to me but obviously not to anyone else ______ Rob Rob Gray, AKA the Graynomad, www.robgray.com |
