Notice. New forum software under development. It's going to miss a few functions and look a bit ugly for a while, but I'm working on it full time now as the old forum was too unstable. Couple days, all good. If you notice any issues, please contact me.

Just found these. http://uk.farnell.com/allegro-microsystems/acs758ecb-200b-pf f-t/current-sensor-200a-3cb/dp/1791391 200Amp Hall effect current sensor chips. Great for those DC battery bank monitoring widgets. How you actually connect some 95mm2 cable to them though I'm not sure. Rob Gray, AKA the Graynomad, www.robgray.com |

This is the link, http://www.allegromicro.com/en/Products/Part_Numbers/0758/07 58.pdf it just worked for me. Otherwise try http://www.alldatasheet.com/view.jsp?Searchword=ACS758 I guess the trouble with wires that big is that it's more mechanics than electronics, you'd have to be very careful to affix the lugs to something solid then run wires (bus bars really) to the sensor. But what I think could be the good thing about these is that they cost about $15, that's better that a 200A shunt. Rob Rob Gray, AKA the Graynomad, www.robgray.com |

A few members here have used the allegros for some time now but they can be very noisy on their output. Pete. Sometimes it just works |
