Notice. New forum software under development. It's going to miss a few functions and look a bit ugly for a while, but I'm working on it full time now as the old forum was too unstable. Couple days, all good. If you notice any issues, please contact me.

There is a New Aussie forum for picaxe uses and electronic constructors, just started up and can use any support from anyone interested.

It is backed by Micro-zed the Australian picaxe supplier.

The site has only been up and running for about a week now and still finding its feet.

I have posted some links to TheBackShed web site on the Aussie Picaxe forum and thought it be good to do the same here to promote their site.

It would be great if both sites can work in parallel with one another, as the new forum has caused some ruffled feathers within the UK Picaxe forum. (they dont think we should have a local forum)

The forum is happy to discuss electronic projects outside of just picaxe based projects, This would include Pic's and atmel processors as well as analog or any other electronic topics you would like or care to post about. (not restricted like some forums)

They are also happy to discuss picaxe at a beginner level without the goobly gook of unknowen terms and instructions.

If any of this interests you then sign up as a member and show your support to help get them started. ( the Aussie spirt of lending a hand to help a local )

See you there.

Pete.

Hi All,

To all those that joined the picaxe forum listed above, an update on what has happened.

This forum has been closed.......and reopened under a different forum called ozelecforum.com.

The reason for this was we were told that topics needed to remain "picaxe based only" and not to be general electronic topics.

Those of us helping to run the forum pulled out and started our own general electronic forum and left Microzed to their own control.

Microzed then closed their forum as the admin was to much for them.
Microzed has now moved across to ozelecforum and supports the picaxe section.

The new forum allows for any topic in electronics to be discussed and any product to be listed and not restricted to picaxe only.

It has only been up and running for a few weeks now and is slowly growing.

We were unable to move the existing members across from the previous forum so those of you who are interested will need to re-register again.

It can be found here.........

http://ozelecforum.com/

All are welcome and in no way intend to distract form topics covered on TheBackShed.

Pete.

Yeah watch him hes a bad dude.

Been battling with some spammers over there, gee they are persistant ass holes.

We had to increase the standard of registration required to join.

Just wish i could send a spike down the line to smoke their computer.

I thought there was a new picaxe chip called Viagra there for a while.

Yeah Pete, the spammers will keep you busy.

Make sure the admins keep the forum software up to date. I've made a few changes to this forum's code to block about half the spammers, but a lot still get through. All you can do is keep deleting their postings, accounts, and block their emails, but they soon pop up again with a new email address.

It is only a local forum to some extent but not limited to local only.

The local side of it is to allow us to help each other with local products and suppliers.

It also lets us help with a phone call to one or another, as often a 10 minute phone conversation can solve many issues that may take days of back and forth over the forum to understand a problem.

Any one if free to join regardless of where you are located.

Just as the rotten spammers do from all over.

Pete.
