G'day Guys,
Well in my other thread I reported I fixed that problem with my mates machine and he said yesterday it was working purfect. I got a call from the missus this morning saying our F&P was playing up. Anyway I put it on spin cycle to get rid of the remainnig water in then next thing SNAP---- CRACKLE----- POP that famous Magic Smoke was very evident.

I pulled the circuit board out to find the culprit and it was the onboard fuse in the input AC PSU that went off in a bang. Taking the board out and inspecting the smd components on the lower side and every thing appears in place with all the magic smoke contained.

I do suspect the water pump gave up the ghost so I am wondering if any Adelaide guys might have a pump spare after stripping a machine out for a wind genny.

Anyway upto my shed to see if I still have an old F&P pcb with a good fuse then off with the water pump to just see if that is the problem.

Regards Bryan

G'day Guy's,
Well priced up a new pump and at $85 it aint much of an ouch. But the main problem now is even after I replaced the fuse the pcb refused to startup when power was applied. I did find a thread on the electro-tech forum that said basically when a pump goes so does the circuit board.

So now the Q if anyone has a circuit board suitable for a 7.5Kg washing machine that is still in working order I will be happy to pay shipping now if a local Adelaide guy has one I can arrange a BBQ and a few HB ales.

The different model F&P's have different coloured motor modules and they are NOT interchangeable with different coloured display modules. So you need to specify which one you want, or say which model machine you want it for.
Grey and Brown modules have two fuses that look like little green cylinders, one is 2 amp and the other 4 amp. Usually both blow.
I don't have any working ones but have boxes of dead ones if you want some.

Hi Grub,
I've done a bit of tracing and found the BT136 triac has shorted and the 330 ohm resistor behind it is only showing 91 ohms. The one I have is a phase 4 board with the plastic box orange in colour. I do have a similar board here but the pcb mount fuse was shot so I'm going to set it up with a glass fuse so if it blows again it will be an easy replacement. On reading the phase 4 board doesn't use the pump coil in the switchmode psu so it will power up with out the pump. Today I'll get on and replace the triac and other parts and see if I can get it to boot up.
