Notice. New forum software under development. It's going to miss a few functions and look a bit ugly for a while, but I'm working on it full time now as the old forum was too unstable. Couple days, all good. If you notice any issues, please contact me.

Soon, he will go into troubles, unless he will do his homework before. I mean, it worked smooth with schematic editor but form now on, things become a little harder. There is a short tutorial for the workflow and you can't get it so easy without reading it. But is worth learning it! Thanks for posting Vasi. I read this just as I was installing KiCad to give it a test whirl myself. I'll read the tutorials before I get stuck in. |

Hi, was able to use TinyCAD with FreePCB and DeskCNC to generate the g-code needed to mill circuit boards. TinyCAD and FreePCB are free downloads and DeskCNC is low cost. It maybe another option. just because your a GURU or forum administer does not mean your always correct :) |

Hi @govertical. I recommended that pair to a beginner on Dave's Youtube Channel (funlw65 being my ID) as an easier alternative to KiCAD, if he still wanted to have Gerber files. Otherwise, I recommended ExperssPCB to use it with a laser printer. KiCAD is more for a professional with a CAD experience background, which also need a crossplatform software. And is the best option under Linux Hobbit name: Togo Toadfoot of Frogmorton Elvish name: Mablung Miriel Beyound Arduino Lang |
