Hi,
So as I posted about a couple months back, we managed to blow my inverter (Xantrex 4048). Without documentation I haven't been able to fix it, so I'm in the market for a new one.

I'm looking for inverter only, no MPPT / charging - and I don't want any of the cheap stuff from China... What recommendations might folks have for this class of device, 48V?

Cheers,
R

One OZ inverter manufacturer that made what you are after has gone out of business. Latronics inverters were just that, they were simple inverters, no charger.
Unfortunately they decided to close down this year.
If you can find one of their inverters it would do what you want.
As Reviac says making your own is an option. You can get powerboards from Aliexpress and Ebay that are cheap and easy to fix. But you need to add the transformer a choke and a few other bits.
Or make one on the designs folks here have made

good luck

I have purchased a number of HF inverters over the years from "Reliable Electric" on Aliexpress, not one has failed and they will put out the advertised power.

Why not the newer version (Schneider SW4048) of the same inverter?

Godoh,

Still selling the OzInverter 2nd edition make your own 6KW OzInverter book, until i run out of stock.

Becuase of the worldwide customs duties and recent increase in import duties/ tarrifs, I have stopped supplying the 3 bare PCB's, its just very time consuming and not cost effective.

However, if you do order the Book i will email the XGERBER files for each of the 3 PCBs.

I am not a comercial buisness and never was, and supplied everything at cost becuase so many people like 'Oztules' 'Warpspeed' etc, helped me.
