Notice. New forum software under development. It's going to miss a few functions and look a bit ugly for a while, but I'm working on it full time now as the old forum was too unstable. Couple days, all good. If you notice any issues, please contact me.

Vasi, perhaps next time try to use a smaller drill bit and you will find the soldering much easier. I also would have bent the wires a little so that there is a bit of wire flat on the pad, facing away from the center. Klaus |

Yes, mine is 1mm diameter... the only size I have right now Tried to use the pins from 0.5Watt resistor but was too tick, did not entered inside socket holes, although for pcb holes fitted well... Hobbit name: Togo Toadfoot of Frogmorton Elvish name: Mablung Miriel Beyound Arduino Lang |

I removed the socket because the target PCB board have already a soldered socket. Here is the ICSP programmer in action And in this page (at "Test" paragraph) I have an embedded movie with a blinking LED. Thank you guys for your help, I learned something new and I did my first PIC programming (problem solved). Hobbit name: Togo Toadfoot of Frogmorton Elvish name: Mablung Miriel Beyound Arduino Lang |

Hi Gordon, I did it your way. It was impossible to hold the PIC straight... always slipt in one of sides. Tried to fill the socket central hole to keep the PIC horizontal but no success... Then, I used a thin but hard plastic, did 4 holes with a needle, then marked in place and cut with a scalpel two "windows". Then placed and bent capacitor pins. After soldering the inner pins, removed the remaining plastic holding pins and cut the plastic and removed it Soldered the remaining pins and this is the result (I hope it will be useful for someone in need like me) ----------------- Hmm,... should use plasticine to fill the central hole at level, then, protect it with a paper or adesive tape... easy..
