I have some LDPE plastic tube approx 400mm diam. that I was contemplating cutting up to make blades for an F+p turbine. they are just under 1m in length, 10-12mm thick. just wondering: a. can reasonable performance be acheived with these if shaped right? b. does anyone have a template or similar I can scale to get the correct shape? im familiar with how the edges need to be shaped but the only 'outline' I can see is the 'mini-mill' battery charger pvc template. where should I start :) cheers Adam "to capitalize on windy wgtn" -excuse the pun :p |

If you visit http://www.fieldlines.com/ and search for zub woof, you will see stories about blades made by Zubby using plastic pipe. These should get you pointed in the right direction. I've made a few blades with PVC pipe, They worked good, but it was all guess work. Glenn The best time to plant a tree was twenty years ago, the second best time is right now. JAQ |
