Hi Group, I've started bolting steel together for a guyed mast that will hold my 10footer,I hope. It will be a permenent stub tower guyed at 25 feet. At the bottom of this will be a pivot pin that will take the raise and lower mast section--the top of the stub mast acting as a gin-pole with a pulley block and the raising /lowering wire rope coming down to the base, then away to the winch. Total height will be in the order of 55 feet, depending on the size of the mill.-I'll be able to shange things easily. Attached is a couple of pic's of the raising of the gin-pole,well,actually a ginpole to raise a ginpole . If you have never had rigging experience,DON'T attempt this . Get someone in that is a rigger. Bruce Bushboy |

Hi Bruce, Sure glad I'm not trying to do the things you do. You must be very experienced/confident in your abilities. I'd hate to put structure up that high and have to maintain it. Thinking of heading down your way camping for a weekend - is that offer to visit still open? Greg Greg Just North of Brisbane in Redcliffe OZeTrade.net |

Hi Greg, yes come on down, Just call me first (07) 55453513 . around 40 minutes from the gold coast ,out towards Canungra. The mast is very strong, proving a bit difficult to raise, but when it's up it will be very strong and able to support most anything I 'm likely to give it. I'm a licenced rigger ,so I've done a bit of this type of thing in past years-and have all the gear for doing it . Bruce Bushboy |

Hiya Bruce Good to see the mast is on its way. Gave up on the trig did ya? lol, I don't blame you, It probably wouldn't have been accurate enough anyway. Is that a tree stump as your base or are my eyes playing tricks on me? Simo |

Brilliant idea! Sure wish I had land with a beautifull view like that. I'm stuck in the ugly burb's with ugly ugly neighbours, kinda limits me to a small, short and hopefully quiet VAWT :( Someday though...... |
