Hiya Guy's, Yesterday I got some 12" diameter upvc stormwater pipe from work for nothing and my thoughts are these would make for a mean wind turbine blade. The thickness is about 8mm and the length is around 3.5 metres. I called into to see Whirlybird yesterday to gloat and he did say somewhere on the net is a link to how to cut the correct shape to get the best profile. I've looked around the net with no sucess so hopefully a member here has done this before and provide some info on how I can tackle this project. I also got a copule of 44 gallon drums so my big savvy genny is starting to come together. Cheers Bryan   |

Use google to search for Zubwoofer. Zubby & Woofer are members of Fieldlines and have done some work on PVC blades. Dennis Latham of Adeliade has also made PVC blades, big ones. His emails is dlatham@chariot.net.au. I've made a couple of sets, it was all guess work, but they did work well. PVC blades are still evolving, some little problems to overcome, but they can be easily made in an afternoon.
