I'm using PicoCalc with MMBasic version V6.03.00. First of all, congratulations on this great version and the successful integration of PicoCalc. However, I’m experiencing the following problem: When PicoCalc runs with an MMBasic program for more than about 2 hours (nothing happens after one hour), I can no longer access the keyboard. The Basic program continues to run flawlessly, but no longer accepts keyboard commands. I’ve tried this with several programs. What could be causing this? My options are: PicoMite MMBasic RP2350A V6.03.00 OPTION LCD SPI GP10,GP11,GP12 OPTION SYSTEM I2C GP6,GP7, SLOW OPTION AUTORUN 1 OPTION FLASH SIZE 4194304 OPTION COLOURCODE ON OPTION DEFAULT COLOURS GREEN, BLACK OPTION KEYBOARD PICOCALC OPTION CPUSPEED (KHz) 252000 OPTION LCDPANEL CONSOLE ,, FF00 OPTION DISPLAY 26, 40 OPTION LCDPANEL ST7365P, PORTRAIT,GP14,GP15,GP13 OPTION BACKLIGHT LCD 30 OPTION SDCARD GP17, GP18, GP19, GP16 OPTION AUDIO GP26,GP27', ON PWM CHANNEL 5 OPTION RTC AUTO ENABLE OPTION COUNT GP3,GP20,GP21,GP22 OPTION MODBUFF ENABLE 192 OPTION F1 RUN "a:PN.bas" OPTION PLATFORM PicoCalc |

No issues with the runtime or keyboard input. But I’ll be happy to test it for you this evening. Perhaps "OPTION RTC AUTO ENABLE" is the problem? Or have you fitted an additional RTC? I’ve recently been having a problem where I have to remove the SD card to start it up?! Then I put it back in and everything’s fine. Does anyone have any advice? Matthias |

This is probably the problem that someone else was seeing. From what I remember it was fixed by a capacitor across the power rails. On the keyboard issue, my understanding is that the keyboard S/W (BIOS) has always been flakey. Are you running 1.6? If not then definitely update. If you are I suggest you post on the PicoCalc forum. Ernst updated the BIOS to 1.6 and he may see a message there. He is the BIOS guru Edited 2026-08-13 03:24 by matherp |

Sorry, but I'm currently out because i'm sick. I also suspect that I'll have to update the BIOS to version 1.6. The I2C runs more stably with that version. But it'll take a little while yet. |
