Well my email to tech support said I needed to reset the router to get the IP default address back again. Only to find the listed IP and the one starlink assigned won't load at all. Tried both in firefox and chrome with the same result where before I reset the router the IP starlink assigned did take me to the login page where I couldn't get the username and password entered. Tried the default ubnt but no go so tried all my login's I have used for years only to find nothing. So in the end used my phone on tether to download Advanced IP Scanner, now I did have the linux computer, my colour printer and the router on the ethernet hub but all the suggested IP scans kept coming up blank. All the led's are flashing in the hub so they all are connected and the LAN led on the router is a solid green. So my question what IP ranges should I be putting in the search so I can find the IP of this router. Regards Bryan |

Yes. :) I don't know your system but I'm guessing that your router has 2 IP addresses, one faces the external network and the other faces your network, the router performing address translation. By default I think most routers have something in the low numbers of 192.168.1.x facing the customer. I'd just try connecting to it from 1 upwards to see if you get a login page. Addresses in that group don't propagate on the external network. Mick Zilog Inside! nascom.info for Nascom & Gemini Preliminary MMBasic docs & my PCB designs |

Also very popular are the 192.168.0.x network masks. The majority of older routers default to that network mask. If you have reset the router most likely it will have DHCP addressing turned on and if you connect to it, it will assign all the network parameters. Besides the actual network address that it gives to the connecting client, it will give you a gateway address. Usually, the gateway address is the place to connect to manage the router's settings. For Starlink also try 192.168.100.1 and 192.168.2.1 Mick Zilog Inside! nascom.info for Nascom & Gemini Preliminary MMBasic docs & my PCB designs |

Well I finally got into the router now my main problem are these friggin browsers and the security attached. Firefox just refused point blank to work where Chrome finally gave me the option to get into the IP.So got onto support where it was suggested a Teamviewer session would be the best so I can just watch bud sadly with using my mobile on tether speed aint the best on a weak signal.Just took 2 screen dumps of the settings and emailed them to support. So after lunch should have this sorted. Regards Bryan |

So as I lost the network in my shed I set my mobile up on USB tether to get the internet back on my shed computer. Set up the team viewer and the tech said he got it all going but still no network for the shed. So brought the router down to the house and set it up on my laptop, 10 minutes later my mobile beeped and found the wifi was working Went for a walk up to my shearing shed with my tablet and decided to do a speed test 105Mbps download and 48Mbps upload On the screen in the IP address it does say the wifi is set for a 1.1K area so now got good coverage around the farm. My daughters boyfriend who is the IT guru is coming around on the weekend to help me out with nuking my desktop that got the Trojan 421C69CS which took over the desktop bigtime. I did notice on my starlink app 190 Gig of data for the month where our normal use is around 20 gig. Win10 looks to be in it's last death throws as it can't remember the network setting now trying to ping 192.168.1.20 on the commandline fails, now when I did win-R and typed ncpa.cpl I could manually set the network IP so I could get into the IP. Then doing a ping just worked and I can get into the IP to look and change settings. So 1/2 way there and as my linux box is connected via the network I do have an old wifi card so that is going to get installed and I did find with this LOCOM5 router using my mobile standing behind the router loses coverage but stayed connected. My old wifi repeater just worked when I reconnected it so it can provide the coverage for the linux box until we can get this networking sorted out. Regards Bryan |

Well Sam came around and got my shed internet all sorted So now got network and the wifi going All he had to do was change the wifi setting from Access Point to Station then straight after "apply" the network was restored so it connected straight away. A couple of days ago setup teamveiwer so the UBI tech could get in to change the settings so it has me beat why he didn't change that setting. Now with my laptop being used as my house computer yesterday I thought I was just updating in windows update a security antivirus patch which ended up with no choice this laptop is now on win11 and after it finished uploading the only thing to change was the start menu All my desktop settings remained etc.Now even bringing up firefox it remembered the pages I was on so looks like it was a smooth update.
