I live in a CRAP-HOLE Country that will broadcast Football 24/7, but very little Racing Never mind Silverstone or Isle of Man. but Meh it's F1 not like it something Good like Moto GP Motorcycles at Isle of Man or Jr. Johnson going up that driveway @ Good wood, Just beating the SNOT out of them Multi Million Dollar Sporty Cars with an Old NASCAR and some DUCKTAPE :) First Year Jr. went to Good Wood, it was a literal LAST Second thing, the Petty's had Lost Adam, so Richard wasn't going. so Jr. got talked in to going, and bitterly in 3-4 days they had taken down a 62 or 63 Chevy off a Rack that hadn't been started since the 60's, loaded it up with a bunch of parts and tools. then Fired it up for the first time 2the day before the race. and Jr. set the time of the day, added some duck tape and went faster! Man I love that Kind of Racing when the Sporty Car Boys get humiliated by poor country Boys!

I don't possess a TV but I'm a few steps away from a pub that has Sky-Sports.
This year, I have quit watching it on TV because they cater more to those who are only interested in the leaders whereas I like to monitor all 20 cars.

There are several YT channels that follow the race in real time but they display a graphical image of the track and each car is represented by an animated dot. I really enjoy this approach. There is a table showing lap-times, sector times, number of pit-stops, tyre (tire) selection, etc.

Shortly after the race, the highlights are posted on YT so we get to see the significant events.

I also follow MotoGP and am also a TT fan...these bikes are completely different, BTW.

It has been a great weekend, I was on the edge of my seat for both F1 and MotoGP

F1...

Total dominance by Hamilton was not fun, and that was for many years. Total dominance by Verstappen was not fun, for last 2 years.

Now the fun comes back....

Sure but being the cynic that I am, I smell a rat

Verstappen leading by 20+ seconds, last season, didn't benefit the sport because many viewers stopped watching.

F1 is now owned by Liberty Media who are trying to grow the sport ($$$$$)

I suspect that LM had a word with Red Bull Racing and told them to at least make it look like Verstappen is fighting. Now the perception is that; the other teams have caught-up but Verstappen always increases his lead   Theatrics, IMO.

Hamilton: 945 days since he last won a race but now, at the British GP, he gets a win. Coincidentally, Brad Pitt and crew are also there to film more footage for the movie entitled "F1" which is co-produced by Hamilton AND the trailer for the movie has just been released.
Hamilton's team-mate, Russell has been kicking Hamilton's buttski but had to retire due a water-pump failure. Ummm OK.

Verstappen, uncharacteristically and with no justification dropped-down the order only to surge back to the front at the end of the race and grabbed 2nd to increase his championship lead over Norris, once again.

I'm not buying it. Liberty Media is pulling the strings, IMO.

I couldn't believe it, back in 2000, TT coverage suddenly appeared on TV in the US and I became really excited. I'd already bored the wife to death, harping-on about Joey Dunlop.

Anyway, the pre-race show was on and I went in to the kitchen for a few minutes. Wifey shouts from the living room: "Hun, you did say Joey Dunlop, right?"

Me:"Yeah, why?"
wifey: "Well, he's on the screen right now and I think you must be mistaken"

I came out to look and there's Joey, in his leathers, bit of a beer-gut, what hair he had was grey and smoking a cigarette

Sure enough, he won multiple races against all these athletic young guys
