When I download videos from my phone, although they play OK on the phone, they are 90's out of alignment when played on the PC with something like VLC. I need some kind of software, that can take these files, rotate the video(left) by 90', and then save a new copy of the video. Can anyone suggest anything? Smoke makes things work. Are you taking the videos in portrait mode? That should be banned. The best you can get is a vertical strip in the middle of the screen with huge black side borders. Edited 2024-07-05 18:16 by Mixtel90 Mick Zilog Inside! nascom.info for Nascom & Gemini Preliminary MMBasic docs & my PCB designs |

A couple of ideas: 1. mplayer can rotate when showing videos 2. ffmpeg can convert an input video into a rotated output one e.g. using -vf transpose =... John |

Maybe your phone is locked into portrait mode so it will not change when you rotate the phone. Bill Keep safe. Live long and prosper. |

No, I am taking them in landscape mode(phone on it's side), but when you try to play them, they come out as portrait orientation, 90-degrees rotated to the right - so just as you say: vertical strip in the middle of the screen. ON THE PHONE, they play fine if you turn the phone on it's side, it's just when you try to play the downloaded video file on something else. Smoke makes things work.
