Notice. New forum software under development. It's going to miss a few functions and look a bit ugly for a while, but I'm working on it full time now as the old forum was too unstable. Couple days, all good. If you notice any issues, please contact me.

Some time ago, I brought this up and it's very cool. I only wanted it for the fonts but I just now tested the "teardrop" Me likey |

OK, I will really have to check this out now! I have always created my own by just drawing two tracks at 45' that intersect with the track in question: But the "Proper" teardrop ones look much sexier! Smoke makes things work. When the smoke gets out, it stops! |

I've loaded it, but TBH the only bit I might use is the teardrop - I rather like that. I don't usually have much use for fonts, although I can see them being of use on front panels. For me, personally, the autorouter looks such a faff that it's probably easier to just learn EasyEDA. For hand routing, which I enjoy doing, I'm not too happy with the curved tracks as you can't really see where they are going to go. Your post brought me to sprintfont. That was a stroke of luck. The plugin is great. I have been using Sprintlayout for many years and have always been happy with it, especially because I like to route by hand and with my brain. But the features such as importing footprints from kicad and easyEDA are really helpful. I am not entirely happy with the autorouter. Especially because you can only work on the upper layer (as I understand it). I also find the integration of SVG very useful because you can then put a small logo on your PCBs. Or a special form of circuit board outline that you can then CNC mill. Best wishes! Joachim |
