Notice. New forum software under development. It's going to miss a few functions and look a bit ugly for a while, but I'm working on it full time now as the old forum was too unstable. Couple days, all good. If you notice any issues, please contact me.

Firstly I just want to say I am flying blind.
I want to use the webmite to send an email, previously I used an ESP8266 and ESP basic.
I have opened a Send Grid account and got an API key. Then the manual says
Quote  To get started you need to create a free login at SendGrid and generate an API key which is a 79 character alpha numeric string that is used to authenticate your access to their servers. This key then needs to be converted to a Base64 encoded string (using https://www.base64encode.org ) which will result in a 92 character alpha numeric string.

I have done this but found that if I do it again it generates a different number. Shouldn't the number generated always be the same for the same API key.

Do what again?  You are doing a few things in your post.

If it is generating the Base64 encoded string, it should not change (assuming that you are inputting the same string).
