I'm building some solar controller's, each has 2 of "5W AC-DC 12V 450mA Power Supply Buck Converter Step Down Modules" in it.
My experience is toddler level

I made an error on alibaba, ordering from the wrong seller, the modules & listed spec/parameters are identical between the 2 sellers.
The module image (below) on the plan has 2 x 470 uf 25v, which I meant to order, instead the modules image I ordered has the 2 x 470 uf but they are only 16v.

Due to my lack of experience, I don't know what the likely effect will be on the finished controllers performance, so any feedback as to how this might effect my project is welcome.

As it takes ~6 weeks to arrive,& they are cheap, If its likely to cause problems I can place another order of 15pk. (just a learning experience)

As the output is 12V a 16V one on that side will be fine.
What is the input voltage? If it isn't much above 16V that may be ok too.
If they get warm or the top bulges unsolder them and fit higher rated ones.

In any case what turns up may have 25V capacitors despite the photo on the site.

I just checked the one I have, its input cap is 400v 47uf, the output cap is also 16v 470uf.

You would have to lift up the capacitor to see the rating, or it just looks the same as each other

That makes sense,(obvious) I never stopped to think each side would have a different rating, the large input voltage handles the high solar pv input, which for me will be ~ 100v. Thanks for both reply's, I managed to cancel the order & re ordered the higher v.
As soon as I figure out how to virtually test the controller, I'll have a better understanding.
