Notice. New forum software under development. It's going to miss a few functions and look a bit ugly for a while, but I'm working on it full time now as the old forum was too unstable. Couple days, all good. If you notice any issues, please contact me.

I went looking for Vegipete's CrateAway game, but although I found it with Search, when I tried to download the zip file, I got 'file not found'. Is it still available? -Bill |

I found it in the link in Vegipete's signature line. PicoMite, Armmite F4, SensorKits, MMBasic Hardware, Games, etc. on fruitoftheshed |

Unfortunately, I am looking for the CMM2 version, not the Picomite version. -Bill |

Per VegiPete's site, "This program is a CMM2 version of the classic Sokoban" PicoMite, Armmite F4, SensorKits, MMBasic Hardware, Games, etc. on fruitoftheshed |

Hmm, I still cannot find the CMM2 version. When I click on the CrateAway link, it just takes me back to the PicoMite version on TheBackShed. -Bill |

With CMM2.FUN not being supported any more and finding out that programs once uploaded to TheBackShed.com do not necessarily stay forever, I am going to start up a GitHub archive where I store my programs. (Of course I have a local archive too.) I am really trying hard to keep the CMM2 alive. Unfortunately, pretty much all I see on this forum is Picomite and its cousins. They are fine, and I commend the work that everyone has put in. But frankly, the CMM2 has superior graphics and excellent speed, and these match the kind of programs I am interested in writing much better than Pico, etc. Perhaps with the partial easing of supply chain issues for chips and related items, this will change. I ordered a new CMM2 Gen2 from Grogster, partially for a backup should my unit fail, but also to encourage more CMM2 production and sales. Oh well, enough moaning. -Bill |

I (like I'm sure many others) appreciate your continued devotion to the CMM2 Bill, and likewise mourn the apparent mothballing of https://cmm2.fun/ - @jirsoft are you out there ? Perhaps someone with some time on their hands could try and pull all the programs off that site just in case @jirsoft stops paying his internet bill. We can then see about getting it all uploaded to github ... though really we should seek everyone's permissions again. Best wishes, Tom Game*Mite, CMM2 Welcome Tape, Creaky old text adventures |

Yeah, due to the COVID-generated silicon chip shortages over the last few years, the CMM2 was, unfortunately, pushed into a state of limbo. Not dead, just in limbo. The five I got made recently are just waiting on the cases to arrive, then they will ship, and I have two left I will put up on the website. If they sell OK, I will order more. You are correct - the CMM2 is definetly the winner when it comes to graphics ability, it's just it was impossible to get hold of the ARM chip for the last couple of years, that basically prevented ANYONE from making them. That does appear to have now changed for the better though. Smoke makes things work. When the smoke gets out, it stops! |
