G'day Everyone,

I've just built 2 new E100's as replacements for E100 timers suspected of damage by nearby lightning strike. I'm using MM Edit V4.1.4 (9 Dec 2021) to connect my Win10 laptop. With both boards MM Edit makes the connection but comes up with "error : sd card not configured" and the download halts. Using one of my original boards I can do the download and run without any problems.

The new chips are V5.05.05 MM Basic. The older board is V5.03.02

I don't have an SD card or an SD card slot fitted to any of the boards. I tried OPTION SDCARD DISABLE in MM Chat but it made no difference. Anyone know what might be causing this problem and how do I fix it? I do have a Chinese PICKit 3 that I've used to update MM Basic before but haven't tried it for this problem.

Thanks for you interest

Do you have the correct syntax option selected in MMedit? Sounds like it might be one that makes MMEdit think it should write to an SD Card.

Thanks disco4now - you were spot on. I didn't have a clue what the CMM2 stood for on the menu line. Changed to Micromite Plus 5.05.01 and I was able to download to both of the new boards. I haven't done much work with SMD soldering and thought I may have cooked both chips. Tomorrow I'll put the displays on and see if I have success.

Thanks again for your valuable input.

Smoke makes things work. When the smoke gets out, it stops!
