Maybe this has been noted before but it looks cool... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ma40w3_8dtg 8M of RAM and the SD card is mounted on the same footprint as a Pico. Same pin-out as well. Not available yet in the states but interesting. -Tim |

It would be interesting to know if it has slower memory like the YD-RP2040. Edited 2023-04-21 00:22 by Mixtel90 Mick Zilog Inside! nascom.info for Nascom & Gemini Preliminary MMBasic docs & my PCB designs |

Buy one and test it for us. Be sure to let us know how you get on. :) You can probably import one from Romania (with 22UKP postage costs, then customs duty, and VAT as well) if you contact them. (If they'll even post to the UK). :) Mick Zilog Inside! nascom.info for Nascom & Gemini Preliminary MMBasic docs & my PCB designs |

Here are links to two boards with Micro SD capability. StackyPi from SB Components https://shop.sb-components.co.uk/products/stackypi I'm using these options with the StackyPi OPTION SYSTEM SPI GP10,GP11,GP12 OPTION FLASH SIZE 8388608 OPTION SDCARD GP9 Adafruit PiCowbell Adalogger for Pico - MicroSD, RTC & STEMMA QT https://www.adafruit.com/product/5703 I don't think MMBASIC supports the RTC on the Adafruit board. |

I'm now wary of the clone boards with extra things on them. Every extra item introduces another layer of incompatibility with the standard unless you defeat it, in which case you've bought something you don't need. An *identical* Pico design, just with more flash, is probably the best thing to get. Mick Zilog Inside! nascom.info for Nascom & Gemini Preliminary MMBasic docs & my PCB designs |

Unless some big retail company like Sparkfun, Microcenter, or Adafruit in the US starts to carry these, the US market is just not able to adopt these. A bummer. |

May I add the "Maker Pi Pico" board ;-) Just discovered & ordered it (rasppishop.de € 13,99 + € 4,99 S&H)- so I can't tell any more, but the features seem to be interesting. and there is a version with socket: -andreas Edited 2023-05-01 03:25 by andreas |

Thanks for info! Then I suppose PicoMite/WebMite runs on it or is the fixed assignments of some pins to external devices a problem? |

No idea. I think he found a couple of problems with it, but I've no idea if he fixed them. Mick Zilog Inside! nascom.info for Nascom & Gemini Preliminary MMBasic docs & my PCB designs |

It is perfectly useful as a breakout. The only issue I remember was that trying to use the buzzer reset the Pico |

May be there was a shortcut or inductive spikes because the piezo is in the near of the reset button and connection between the reset button and the run header runs under the buzzer from top to left side. May be this connection works like an "antenna". -andreas |

This was my first Raspberry Pi Pico board and MAKER PI PICO board and works perfectly to experiment with and has plenty of spare parts on it all supported by PicoMite Basic. I modified it a bit by interrupting the LED voltage on the bottom by interrupting the relevant pad. Now it appears that the pins of the external DEBUG are not connected by default, so I use the SWCLK pin to connect to the 3V3 of the LEDs GP14 and GP15 on top of the PCB with a thin insulated wire via the free path. This way I can make a jumper link on top of the print to provide the LEDs with 3V3 power or not. And insulate the bottom of the interruption with a drop of second glue. Good luck. |

Please note this only applies to the MAKER PI PICO board with separate Raspberry Pi Pico. I also placed nylon spacers against short circuits and mounted a DS3231 RTC print via the nylon bushes and support bushes on the bottom so that date and time can be kept on the SD card. Good luck |

As I mentioned in an earlier post, I have a friend from Romania who said they would see if they can get a few. Well, I just got four of them yesterday and I will be evaluating them in the next week or so. Stay tuned... -Pilot |
