Hi, can this SSD1963 display be used with the PicoMite? Unfortunately, there are no pin assignments printed or available... :-( THANKS! Frank |

Assuming it uses the standard pinout - then yes, see the manual for connection details |

Start by buzzing out connections to the SDcard and xpt2046 chip to see if the wiring corrresponds |

Perhaps be a little cautious about the orientation of the board; your image shows the circuit board overprint to be upside down. It is unlikely that this board is intended to be in this orientation. Perhaps the connector on your board is on the opposite side to the one shown by Peter. Checking that the ground connection corresponds to the standard diagram might be sensible before making other connections. The connection is likely to be standard but which way up? @circuit: You are right! The orientation of the plug is unusual - that's why I asked here first. I have now ordered it - let's see if I can measure the pinout out... Frank |

You are very brave, ordering a display with no information available. :) Mick Zilog Inside! nascom.info for Nascom & Gemini Preliminary MMBasic docs & my PCB designs |

Well, the prices are so what exploded! It was a single piece from Germany on Ebay for 35 euro. At the moment the cheapest cost 45 euros from China! From Germany even 87 Euro! This is not fun anymore!!! Wish me luck!!! Frank Edited 2023-04-03 22:09 by Frank N. Furter |

They certainly have increased in cost; my last purchase was on Amazon UK when I bought three seven inch units at £22 each - just 18 months ago. |

Be aware that some SSD1963 boards have solder jumpers to select the operation of the backlight. Yours has J1, J2, J3 jumpers which are apparently open. These may have some functionality in backlight control. |

If you get it working maybe post a link to the supplier. edit: and if you don't, so people can avoid it. John Edited 2023-04-06 23:51 by JohnS |
