Notice. New forum software under development. It's going to miss a few functions and look a bit ugly for a while, but I'm working on it full time now as the old forum was too unstable. Couple days, all good. If you notice any issues, please contact me.

Hallo, warum gibst Du den ab? Und welche Preisvorstellung hast Du? Versand wäre auch in Deutschland. Hello, why are you selling it? And what price do you have in mind? Shipping would also be in Germany. LG Matthias |

It is a CMM1. The name is confusing. Bill Keep safe. Live long and prosper. |

Circuitgizmo named his version of the CMM1 before the CMM2 was in the pipeline. It's an unfortunate similarity but on the bright side, the CMM1 is still a magnificent beast. Jim VK7JH MMedit MMBasic Help |

Hi Jim, Yes, the CMM1 is a very nice and reliable platform. Used it a lot. Volhout The only drawback is that the MMBasic is somewhat older (4.x.x ?) so it does not benefit from the latest features Peter added in 5.x.x. Geoff once talked about doing one upgrade to the 5.x series, but as I understand the development environment for the older chip cannot handle the newer source code. Anyway, given the CMM2 exists, the pressure will be more on CMM2. PicomiteVGA PETSCII ROBOTS |

PM's stay in your outbox till the person receiving it reads it - and deletes it. If the receiver deletes the message, you lose your copy of it from your outbox. From the PM outbox page: "Outbox. Messages will stay in your outbox until the recipient deletes it." If the receiver reads it, but does not delete it from THEIR inbox, it will stay in your outbox. If the receiver reads it, then deletes the message from THEIR inbox, it will vanish from your outbox. The PM pages are not an email server, and are designed for very limited PM'ing between members. One way to control the number of messages the server has to keep track of, is this concept. YOU have control over your INBOX, but the receiver controls if messages stay in your OUTBOX. It seems like a strange idea at first glace, but it makes the messages self-regulating. As your inbox grows bigger to the point you have to delete messages in your inbox, those messages sent from member X are automatically deleted from member X's outbox, freeing up message space on BOTH accounts. It means that the server cannot become overloaded with thousands of messages over time that are never deleted by the members. If you need to keep a copy of anything in your outbox, you should print out a copy on paper, as messages in your outbox can be deleted at any time without notice. Smoke makes things work. When the smoke gets out, it stops! |

@Grogster: Thanks for the explanation. It was only at second glance that I noticed the distinction between Inbox Outbox and New Message in the upper right corner. I also found it strange that the complete message is contained in the reply field. But now that i have understood it once, it is so far clear. |
