Notice. New forum software under development. It's going to miss a few functions and look a bit ugly for a while, but I'm working on it full time now as the old forum was too unstable. Couple days, all good. If you notice any issues, please contact me.

Hi,

To my own massive surprise, I finished* a long term project

It is a bedside DAB/DAB+ radio alarm clock. It streams digital radio through a serial radio module, keeps its clock automatically in sync with the DAB broadcast time signal, shows the time alongside temperature/humidity on a colour TFT, and dims its display to match the room's ambient light. The whole interface is simplistic: Driven by a single rotary encoder plus a toggle switch.

More in the repository.

Here is also a short video.

Cheers
Thomas

* Well, my wife disagrees as the alarm sometimes goes off without being set, but I consider this a minor flaw
