After years of moving 19" monitors around the house every time I wanted to code something, or test something, I ran into two aluminum brackets, mounted to an LCD panel. This was part of a demonstration kit from TI. The LCD was a LVDS screen, so I tossed it, and decided to use these 2 brackets for my new rig. Looking at the future (Peters new 2350 board, and Mixtels recent designs, a 10x10cm pcb was all I would need to accomodate. So I took Mixtel's PicoGameVGA as my platform. For screen I took the 7" IPS monitor I bought 1 year ago, since it has VGA, and also..HDMI... It is powered from USB-C -or- from 12V (dc jack). I tried it, and running 5V at the DC jack also works... And audio amplifier, and 2 5cm speakers complete the rig. The speakers are different, but what the heck, they make sound.... I will use this rig to complete the 6.0.0 excecise for the games I own, and once Peters board come available, this will be the HDMI test rig. As you may have noticed, the loudspeakers are in a carton box. I made a carton template for the wood to cut, but after spray painting it, it proved to be sturdy enought to use it as is. Not the nicest, but .... The 2 mounting plates are FR4 spray painted black. Finally I have a system that I can transport easily... I am happy with it.. Volhout PicomiteVGA PETSCII ROBOTS |

In action... 2 player CIRCLE game (running 5.09.00, must be ported to 6.0.0). The 2 player version was originally written for 5.07.04, when Peter ported the first PIO commands. Some has changed since. And I need to support the new USB controller(s). These are the original 9pin D-type NES controllers, that the PicoGameVGA was designed for.. Nice design. I was browsing and it appears these 8 inch steel wall brackets are roughly the same size and could be used to build a similar setup https://www.amazon.com/Brackets-Triangle-Workshop-Industrial-Supports/dp/B097MBYTC3/ref=sr_1_18?crid=1YYCBJV9Y5OHC&dib=eyJ2IjoiMSJ9.lHK2VjrWHJUwiOu8hPTaJZg6Gn4mkoP7__kpkvOyyqwg-uv9C-NZ1M1LLpC-lY8piKoyPN4K-65BodyCTkQbTcqfGrKQJTgJTItMOuMLWDR5nFmYP-o_oSvSwjOf8i33MJAX-nH1qK10-vXlt1MveUJToxRUhYmzRvAnEkfC56wRP8QRTceam0BUxVpK83UmDTMXKeMmOih98_RcDup2av40aCBlmHd8y77Q-QE_ViqZusW2DbUVIuEgdhK0h0e8Dwd6EflxF0-EHD1aYkJsNixVExul9B-WMTMgnesA2Uk.IwPOcGAVU_ilifeeJgexLekOWUrWNuYLBNf0-_Ivk64&dib_tag=se&keywords=Inverted%2Btriangle%2Bshelf%2Bbracket&qid=1726976348&s=hi&sprefix=inverted%2Btriangle%2Bshelf%2Bbracket%2Ctools%2C143&sr=1-18&th=1 |
