Notice. New forum software under development. It's going to miss a few functions and look a bit ugly for a while, but I'm working on it full time now as the old forum was too unstable. Couple days, all good. If you notice any issues, please contact me.

Now that I've got my hands on a shiny new 2nd Generation CMM2, I updated the cheat sheet I use for deciding which resolution I should write my games in. I thought that it might be useful to others as well - so here it is:

On the whole, there seems to be just over twice as many pages available for each resolution in Gen 2 (compared with Gen 1), up to a maximum of 60.

This opens up huge possibilities for pre-rendering graphics and creating some epic parallax scrolling. I am very excited.

Ah-ha...good info

I know next-to-nothing about the video capabilities but I saw your original table when I just started to look at the CMM2 and it didn't jibe with what little I knew about Gen 2. This makes sense now and looks pretty darned good.

Many thanks
