  thwill said  Hi Martin,

I've got it 95% working with MMB4L's PicoMiteVGA simulation now ... still a very nice game .

Can I suggest the following modifications to the status line:

- precede gem count by an icon of a gem - and show the count immediately, instead of after the first gem is collected.
- precede the life counter with an icon of a man
- precede timer with an icon of an analog clock

Best wishes,

Tom

V1.01 some fixes and some small changes.

*Missing Gem count and Score at start was an issue, (fixed it)
*Redifined 3 Chars (^| and \) to symbols so the small Icons now appear in the bottom line.
*The use of GP14 has been commented out so that it is free for other purposes

GNR.zip

(its just the Bas file, so just replace it in the GemsNRocks Folder)

Cheers

Famous last words ... which PicoMite firmware are you using Martin? When I try to run it with 5.08 on the Game*Mite it does an "Invalid address - resetting" when trying to play the modfile.

Best wishes,

Tom

Hi tom

I ve made the Changes on MMB4W but just tested successfully tested on my Game*Mite, that's why i have no idea why it doesn't work for you.
My settings:
  Quote  PicoMite MMBasic Version 5.08.00
OPTION SYSTEM SPI GP6,GP3,GP4
OPTION CPUSPEED  252000 'KHz
OPTION DISPLAY 26, 80
OPTION LCDPANEL ILI9341, RLANDSCAPE,GP2,GP1,GP0
OPTION TOUCH GP5,GP7
OPTION SDCARD GP22
OPTION AUDIO GP20,GP21', ON PWM CHANNEL 2
OPTION MODBUFF ENABLE  192
OPTION PLATFORM Game*Mite

I have changed the MOD file from the beta to the final version (added one Sample), please make sure that you use all files from the release version.

Good Luck
Martin

Thanks Martin,

It seems likely the problem was caused by my using too long file paths (> 63 chars).

I believe I am using the latest .mod file.

Thanks again,

Tom

I guess the 3 rocks are supposed to roll down like in the original BD?

Martin,

Really nice game. I am learning how to kill butterflies (3rd level)....
Running VGA on 50900rc3.

The only thing I would improve on is the 2 start screens. Despite the fact that dithering gave a fast solution to get these in 16 color, it is a bit of a grainy picture (especially on a large VGA screen). Maybe some manual coloring would have given a less dithered picture. Much like the Petsky screens that you did Martin.

as long as they lie on dirt, they dont fall.Conversely, it means that a rock falls diagonally if there is another rock or gem underneath it and the diagonal path is clear.
This is no different to Boulderdash versions i played.
It also doesn't claim to be a Boulderdash clone (different tiles, levels, sprites and music) but a game based on the principle of Boulderdash.
So if something works differently than in Boulderdash, then that's how it is

The customization and editing of the home screen and Tiles of Petsciirobots took days until I was satisfied. Not coherent but if I count the time.
I have a lot to do privately at the moment, so unfortunately my time is limited. Programming is more like therapy and distraction for me at the moment.
Maybe later, if/when everything is back to normal.

Cheers
