Notice. New forum software under development. It's going to miss a few functions and look a bit ugly for a while, but I'm working on it full time now as the old forum was too unstable. Couple days, all good. If you notice any issues, please contact me.

Nice module, Watch out, it uses a rechargeable cell. Not a CR1220 lithium battery. Volhout PicomiteVGA PETSCII ROBOTS |

Neo6 or 7 GPS modules usually have standard 9600 baud TTL serial comms that you can parse for the 'Mites without the GPS functions in the firmware. EG Edited 2024-04-28 21:27 by phil99 |

I agree. I particularly like the VK2828U8G5LF because it has the 1pps signal that makes a nice interrupt. |

I looked at Palcal's GPS module recommendations and the first one was £2.98 to the UK and I thought great I may buy one of those until I noticed the postage £25.40!!! May be not. |

Make sure you are looking at the UK version of the AE site. Search by the type number. Buy 2 at £4.45 each and get free shipping. :) Mick Zilog Inside! nascom.info for Nascom & Gemini Preliminary MMBasic docs & my PCB designs |

@ grumpyoldgeek and others, I have 2 VK2828U8G5LF modules, that is with the U8 and not U7, they worked with the GPS function on a Picomite but would not work with a Micromite. I found that they don't work if you use $GPRMC or $GPGGA they use $GNRMC and $GNGGA. "It is better to be ignorant and ask a stupid question than to be plain Stupid and not ask at all" |
