Notice. New forum software under development. It's going to miss a few functions and look a bit ugly for a while, but I'm working on it full time now as the old forum was too unstable. Couple days, all good. If you notice any issues, please contact me.

I received a new LCD Display and the screen had a large blemish in the middle. I complained and the seller sent a video of how to fix and it is so simple. Others here may already know but I was amazed at how easy it was. I can't upload a video but you hold the screen between thumb and forefinger of both hands, top and bottom of the glass and squeeze hard. Two or three squeezes in different places and the mark was all gone.

Good to know!

I'd only be worried about cracking the glass.
It does not take much!!!

Hmm... would that be a 3.2 inch display ? Not many local vendors around for them.
I received one today, when it arrived the "sealed" antistatic bag had been cut open,  it is not showing any display apart from the backlight.  The adafruit lcd utility runs ok and reports back various parameters so I think the connections are OK. But nothing displays. Annoying to waste time on it when it should be a product without Hassle.

Compressing a lcd is really not a good thing, they used to get dead pixels etc from damage. I would get a replacement, they are expensive enough.

It is not compressed as pushing on the glass, its squeezing the sides together.
This is the video I was sent.

Maybe not such a simple fix, each morning the blotch is back and I have to fix again.

Oh, gotcha - sounds much safer for the glass!
