Notice. New forum software under development. It's going to miss a few functions and look a bit ugly for a while, but I'm working on it full time now as the old forum was too unstable. Couple days, all good. If you notice any issues, please contact me.

A truism. If one can move quickly through a document in the editor with PgUp and PgDn (and Home and End), and move with the arrow keys to any character position on the screen, then the SPI speed is not going to be much of an impediment if one is happy with the ILI9488 screen size.

If one is not, we aren't short of choices.

    I completely agree with you!!!

If you are adding lines at the bottom of the screen (the normal way) then each time you press Enter (CRLF) the whole screen has to scroll. It's very unusual (and very ineffective) to press PgDn instead of Enter. :)

However, if you are happy editing on a little LCD display who am I to argue? Personally I'd need a magnifier in front of it...

That is also not necessary. The display is fast enough to move just one line - it takes less than a second.
LIST is a disaster or scrolling down several lines in the editor at the bottom of the screen with the arrow key is also an imposition.
FILES is also no real fun if there are already a lot of files and folders on the drive.
Everything else works fast enough...
