Notice. New forum software under development. It's going to miss a few functions and look a bit ugly for a while, but I'm working on it full time now as the old forum was too unstable. Couple days, all good. If you notice any issues, please contact me.

matherp said  As before, I'll order 5. If they work OK and anyone wants one then the cost as pictured will be about £23 + my shipping cost (£1.95 to the UK and £3.25 to Europe).

Does that price include the omitted components?

If yes, I'd ike one please.

The PCBs have arrived and electrically they work perfectly
Physically they are poor to rubbish

The concept is a single board computer with ultra-fast graphics

It supports any of the standard 16-bit parallel TFT displays and includes the usual RTC and audio (including stereo amp).

To keep costs down I left most of the non-surface mount off the build by JLC hence the missing bits on the board.

The physical issues are:

Upright USB socket means that the display has to be spaced off the board using a stacked socket
USB connector and volume control too close to the 26-pin expansion connector
Speaker connectors too close for individual sockets and not spaced correctly for a 4-pin socket

Loading the MMBasic firmware is a bit idiosyncratic. Obviously it uses the PcoMiteUSB firmware variant but doesn't use the standard serial console pins so the process is as follows:
Flash the firmware via the USB-A port
Connect a keyboard
Enter the following commands blind: OPTION PICO OFF, OPTION SERIAL CONSOLE GP28,GP29
Then you can connect to a comuter and finish configuring or continue with the keyboard as per the instructions on the back of the PCB

I've re-done the physical layout of the PCB to fix the issue and will post the designs on the PicoMiteUSB github page soon. Cost for 5 boards fully built as pictured £115.

New layout:

Hi Peter, All,

I have been wondering,  what are the pink lines and dots I see on many of your 3D renders?

Regards,

Mick

They look like orientation markers for the Pick-n-Place robot. The dots are all near pin 1 of the chips.
