I'm not sure what you could use this for (ie, a practical application).
Also, many people still have not forgiven FTDI for punishing their user base with the FT232RL driver debacle.

It would be more creative to connect a Pico over the same USB and get a lot more IO for  less money. Why put up with 8 bits when you can have 26? :)

Because I wouldn't know how to get a megabyte/second from the Pico?
MMB4W is the fastest MMBasic but outside of the PC?

Money? You should try boating or golfing for a hobby
