This is a carry over from the Explore100 thread which I thought best to transfer to a new thread since my request seems to have stalled there. Around mid Sept I found a bug in MMBASIC 5.05.05 with the NUMBERBOX ACTIVATE command running on a Micromite Plus. In the "Explore100" thread phil99 also confirmed that he sees the bug on an SC MM+ LCD Backpack. It looks like MMBASIC is treating the word ACTIVATE as a variable instead of part of the command. I'm using an Explore100 board & 5" touch LCD to control a spectrometer here at work. I've got the job finished now except for this bug. The idea is for the Controller to open a NUMBERBOX control automatically when it's powered up so the user can enter the spectrometer's current position before continuing. The TEXTBOX ACTIVATE command works fine, it's just the NUMBERBOX ACTIVATE command which isn't working. I've used the standard 28-pin Micromite, Explore64 & 100 in quite a few projects now and haven't noticed any other problems at all. They just work and are extremely reliable. Congrats to Geoff and everyone involved in their development. Except for this current bug I agree that Ver 5.05.05 can be treated as just about final now. Geoff, Grogster, anyone - can you confirm and hopefully fix the above bug? regards Peter |

Hi I don't know if this is correct, but this is from current bug list V5.05.05 Earlier versions of the Micromite Plus manual listed the commands GUI NUMBERBOX ACTIVATE, GUI NUMBERBOX CANCEL, GUI FORMATBOX ACTIVATE and GUI FORMATBOX CANCEL. These were never implemented and have been removed from the manual. /Lasse N/A |

Hi Doktorn, I just downloaded the firmware zip file again and checked the bug list and MM+ manual. Yep, there it is - "Current_bug_list.txt" says the NUMBERBOX ACTIVATE command was never implemented as you pointed out. Unfortunately it's still in the MM+ manual on pages 57/58 which is what I was going by. At least that explains why I can't get the command to work. It does say that those bugs should be fixed in later versions so for the moment I'll use a different method to do what I want to do. Thanks very much for finally solving the puzzle. Peter |
