Notice. New forum software under development. It's going to miss a few functions and look a bit ugly for a while, but I'm working on it full time now as the old forum was too unstable. Couple days, all good. If you notice any issues, please contact me.

Typo and suggestion re SSD1306I2C OLED In the V5.08.00 manual, page 7, section on getting started with Apple Macintosh it says to first start the application and type in: ls /dev/tty.*. The last period in that line is extraneous and causes the command to fail :) Also, attempting to setup a SSD1306I2C OLED, I found the command OPTION LCD PANEL SSD1306i2c, L,2 on Page 47 but a lot of frustration until I eventually found that first I had to setup I2C with OPTION SYSTEM I2C sdapin, sclpin which I haphazardly stumbled across on page 84. Some mention on page 47 of needing to set up I2C first, cross referenced to page 84 would seem useful! It works great now and it a nortorious 1.3" version. |

These two can no longer be found in the manual. Could it be that the first one was previously deprecated after v5.07.07 but can't find out where? The second option was added in v5.07.08RC11. OPTION FAST AUDIO ON/OFF Overhead of changing the volume or sound type for PLAY SOUND can now be removed using OPTION FAST AUDIO ON/OFF in a program. Defaults to OFF. Audio cutoff frequency now reduced to a maximum of 44100 or WAV/FLAC frequency, regardless of CPU speed. OPTION LCD PANEL 8bit display code, orientation [, backlight pin] [, DCpin] Parameter for OPTION LCDPANEL for 8-bit parallel displays. If DC pin is omitted, pin assignment is as per manual. If DC pin is specified, DC, WR, RD and RESET pins are assigned sequentially from DC pin. |

I might be an idea to add a comment to the multi-line comments entry that these cannot be used inside subroutines and functions. It doesn't half cause problems if you do! Mick Zilog Inside! nascom.info for Nascom & Gemini Preliminary MMBasic docs & my PCB designs |

We seem to have run out of manual additions/errors (for the time being anyway). So I have updated all the manuals accordingly and copied them up to my website. If you are re downloading them it might be worth clearing your browser's cache first. Thanks for everyone's input. Geoff Edited 2024-02-29 12:00 by Geoffg Geoff Graham - http://geoffg.net |
