This is quite interesting: Dial Phone I remember pulling a few old dial-phones to bits in my youth, but never really understood what was going on at the time!  Smoke makes things work. When the smoke gets out, it stops! |

If you happen to need a NOS rotary dial, still in its original circular "hat box", or a simple uniselector (IIRC it's a 4 or 5 row) then I just happen to have them in my shed. :) Very good video, thanks. So many years ago while I was wheelchair bound I stayed with my Grandparents and my Uncle. He was asked to make a phone system for the local church using 15 phones. We broke the phones down and built custom wooden boxes so they matched the look of the benches and desk. Putting the guts of the phones in the boxes was my task. My Uncle built a big relay panel that was the switch board. That is when I learned relay logic and todays PLCs have the same feel just much much smaller and easier to program. It was a great distraction from my scoliosis surgeries. Quazee137 At 68 I have to say life has been good to me. |
