Notice. New forum software under development. It's going to miss a few functions and look a bit ugly for a while, but I'm working on it full time now as the old forum was too unstable. Couple days, all good. If you notice any issues, please contact me.

I noticed that the new Arduino Due has a dual-core ARM Cortex processor. I could not find out much about its specifications. I wonder how close it is to the CMM2. -Bill |

As far as I can tell.... The M3 came out in 2004 so it's getting on a bit now. The M7 was released in 2014 - hardly new, but it's 10 years of development later. It's *much* slower in clock speed. 84MHz vs 480MHz. The RAM seems to be fixed at 96KB of SRAM, the CMM2 has 1MB of RAM and 2MB of flash. It's missing the on-board video controller. The M7 used in the CMM2 is a high performance chip - twice as fast as the M4, never mind the M3. So no, it's not very close at all. :) Edited 2023-09-22 01:25 by Mixtel90 Mick Zilog Inside! nascom.info for Nascom & Gemini Preliminary MMBasic docs & my PCB designs |

You'd be nearer with the Arduino Portenta H7 or Arduino GIGA R1 which use STM32H747XIH6. Still much work to support a CMM2-like MMBasic. John |
