Yep - NE555, LM741. The world's greatest chips. :D I still have several 741 and 748 that I bought as a kid. I think I blew most of my 555 up, but they've been replaced over the years. Yeah, I seem to recall "Finding" some 741's on ancient old PCB's from the 70's, and they were in round metal cans - but still with 8 pins. I seem to recall playing about with those, but not really getting any "Real" results - probably cos I would have only been about 12 at the time and not REALLY knowing what the hell I was doing with op-amps!!!!
