Notice. New forum software under development. It's going to miss a few functions and look a bit ugly for a while, but I'm working on it full time now as the old forum was too unstable. Couple days, all good. If you notice any issues, please contact me.

I bought one of these Smart-Response XE gadgets to play with from e-bay. I first tried the tiny basic on git-hub and found it less than impressive. So I thought why not try stuffing a micro-mite in the case and use the terminal software from get-hub as keyboard and display. Well it does work but not great. Had to slow down to 9600 baud. Now there is no way to exit the editor when you type in a program (no function keys) so back to a nice paper weight. But , I did make it sorta work so maybe I get a beer anyway. The rain stopped .....

@gadgetjack:

Can you show me your schematic and your code? I have a SMART Response XE too.
Did you know that there is another interpreter?

I am reworking the terminal code to make it more mmbasic friendly. All that I have so far can be found on github by searching for Smart Response XE. Get the terminal package. The schematic is on the site too. They are a bear to take apart , so I soldered the programming cable to the pads inside and fed it out the back. When its done I may remove it or keep it for more playing. A usbtinyisp programmer is needed. Cheap and everywhere.
I do not have the newest mmbasic loaded either as it was on another project from a while back. Its raining again today , so , back to work.
