Good video from The 8-Bit Guy: Dumb Terminals... And as all MMBASIC devices are based on the very same kind of terminal principle, I thought this was a good video to see. Smoke makes things work. When the smoke gets out, it stops! |

I had a few old terminals I picked up at a auction for next to nothing. Mostly Wyse. I did find uses for them, one was gifted to a guy who had suffered a stroke and couldn't speak, struggled to hold a pen, but could still type on a keyboard. I set it up with local echo enabled, so he could type and his family could see what he typed on the screen. His son later told me his dad was very happy to be able to communicate again. Plus it was good to see the old terminal have a second life. Glenn The best time to plant a tree was twenty years ago, the second best time is right now. JAQ |

That was very good, Grogster. Thanks. :) I'm not sure if it got thrown out or not, but I used to have a dumb terminal in the deep, dark depths of the shed. It may be worth an investigation sometime, but I've nowhere to set it up (which is why it's where it is or may be!). I think there's a S100 case with no boards in it in the shed too, if anyone wants it. You'll have to come and get it though - I can hardly lift it never mind ship it anywhere!
